Places to visit in Slovenia


  1. Bled Castle:
      The Beautiful Bled castle is one of the several wonders of Slovenia. Bled Castle, a medieval castle built on an escarpment above the alpine town of Bled in Slovenia, overlooking the mesmerizing Lake, Bled. The Castle traces back its origin to 1004. One of the main attractions in the castle is the Gothic chapel on the upper courtyard, and of course, the first view of the Bled Lake and its island from the top of the castle. Apart from a fine view of the Bled Island, the castle provides a complete view of the town of Bled.  The beautiful wide countryside view of the Bled town can also be seen from the top of the castle.


     
2. Rakov Škocjan:
  Rakov Škocjan is beautiful wild karst valley. It was formed by the mysterious river Rak, which originates from Zelške caves on one end, runs on the surface for 3.5 km under the naked sky and then goes underground again as it touches the Tkalca cave on the other end of the beautiful valley. The area is landscaped by a number of multiple sized bridges known as the ‘Great Bridges’ and the ‘Small Bridges’. To reach Rakov Škocjan, one needs to follow a dirt road coming out of 'Ljubljana – Koper'. A must watch to the nature lovers, who like to wander here and there, roaming in the heart of nature instead of hiring a vehicle. 




  1. Škocjan Caves:

      The Škocjan Caves are one of the most exclusive and unique limestone cave systems in the world. This karst landscape is bosomed by the Reka River, which has sought its way under the ground. Some features that make it different from other caves are the dripstone as well as lakes, waterfalls and the underground gorges. Four deep fissures have been formed in the cave due to the collapsed roof of the cave, making it look all the more unique. The underground passages are, 5 kilometres long and 230 meters deep. The caves have been declared as the heritage of world importance due to their specific and unique built and their mesmerizing beauty.
